The engine cover on the 2.0T FSI engines is part of the intake system. The engine cover houses the engine air filter. The engine cover is often cracked during removal. There are 4 grommets (036-129-689-B) inside the engine cover that mount it to the engine itself. Often times during removal the plastic around these grommets will get cracked as the engine cover is sometimes difficult to remove.
