Pierburg is the manufacturer of the OEM VW 2.5 Liter 5 cylinder vacuum pump. Therefore this vacuum pump would the same as the 2.5 pump you would purchase at your local dealer, minus the VW logo. Don't spend more money for the same part.

Found on the drivers side of the cylinder head the vacuum pump is mounted to the upper timing cover. The part is driven mechanically by the camshaft driven by a special key way at the end of the cam. This parts function is to be sure that the systems that require vacuum have them even when engine vacuum is not available.

Does not include gasket. Please note this fits most 2.5 engines, but some later models take a different pump. If you are unsure about this fitment of this item, please email us with your vin number.
