The crank bolt on VW and Audi engines has a very high torque spec. You will have a nearly impossible time to remove this bolt without a hold tool, and more importantly you should never reinstall the crank bolt (one time use) without properly torquing it. If you fail to properly torque your crank bolt, it will potentailly back out allowing your timing gears to slip which will damage your engine.
Our crank counter hold tool attaches to a 1/2 ratchet or breaker bar. This makes it easy to ship and store in your tool box, while still getting the leverage need for counter holding agains the high torque spec.
