VW Audi 2.0t Throttle Body 06F133062T

The throttle body on your 2.0t VW or Audi is an important part of your engine. Throttle bodies control the air coming into the engine by opening and closing a butterfly valve. On all current model VW and Audis the throttle bodies are drive by wire. This means there are no physical parts used to control them (IE no throttle cable connecting the pedal to the throttle body). All actions of the throttle body are controlled by the ECM. When you hit the gas on the vehicle the pedal assembly sends the signal to the Engine Control Module, which then tells the throttle body to open or close. This action means multiple sensors are integrated into the throttle body to make this happen. No sensors or motors on the throttle body are serviceable, which means if you think you have a bad TPS (throttle position) sensor you must replace the complete unit.

Do you need to perform coding when installing?

Yes some actions are required after installation of a new throttle body. Its not actual coding as the process is pretty basic, but it will require a scan tool like a vagcom. After installing your new 2.0t throttle body you will want to set basic settings, or adaptation. This will tell the engine computer what position the throttle is in, which is imperative to the proper operation of your VW 2.0t engine.
