When taking the crank pulley off on a TSI engine the crank bolt must be removed. Taking this off requires a spacer to be installed to ensure the chains to no fall out of time. This spacer is to be installed, then reinstall the crank bolt and snug down. This will ensure your crank gear that drives your timing chains will stay in place whille working on parts in the timing chain, or cover area.
