This kit includes the basic parts we recommend when installing a new water pump in your 2.0t TSI engine. The aluminum water pump includes should address the major issues with the OEM TSI water pumps. The other parts are recommended for installation, as you will remove these. The union between the water pump and the oil cooler includes new seals, you will want to do this to prevent coolant leaks. The bolt included replaces the mounting bolt holding the water pump belt drive pulley to the intermediate shaft. The belt is the small water pump drive belt which runs from the intermediate shaft to the water pump gear. Lastly there is a 1 gallon bottle of concentrated G13 to replace the lost coolant when doing the job (see bottle for mix).
This Aluminum water pump in this kit solves a major concern with the original 2.0t TSI VW or Audi water pump. The original 2.0t TSI water pump was made of plastic. While these water pumps did have some failure potential being made of plastic made this issue ever worse.
The 2.0t TSI engine can have oil leak issues coming from the cam cradle (valve cover) area. This oil can run down the front of the engine block on to the water pump housing. After some time this oil will compromise the plastic of the water pump, causing a coolant leak. This aluminum water pump housing will not have the same concerns of oil damaging the housing of the water pump. Prevent any future water pump failures with this aluminum water pump for your 2.0t TSI engine.
