This engine cover comes from the factory on the Beetle 2.5s that have an air box that is separate from the engine cover. This engine cover is often used for other models after the installation of a cold air intake.
The engine cover on all other 2.5 Five Cylinder engines has the airbox and filter integrated into it. Once the engine cover(air box) is removed it leaves your engine bay bare. This VW part is a perfect way to keep you engine bay looking clean and factory without having to sacrafice performance.
