Our Magnetic Drain plug was specifically designed with the OEM VW one in mind. We wanted to keep the same VW look and feel which is why our magnetic drain plug uses a 19mm head just like your original VW one does.

Installing a magnetic Drain Plug on your vehicle will help protect the internals of your engine. This magnetic drain plug will attract and trap metal particles that may be floating in your oil. This allows you to you to capture any of those contaminants and remove them once you change your oil.

Our magnetic drain plugs are all made of Steel with Zinc Coating to ensure they do not round out or become pitted, as an aluminum drain plug might. We also used the magnetic material Samarium Cobalt, instead of the more common Neodymium. This is done as the Neodymium loses its magnetic properties over 175 degrees. Our drain plugs are made in the US and are high quality steel (4140) with the Deutsche Auto Parts logo engraved in them.

Drain plugs should be torqued to 25Nm to ensure that you do not strip your oil pan.
