This special tool is to remove the oil control valve for the variable valve timing located at the end of the intake camshaft.  This special tool would be required to remove your cam bridge, camshaft, cylinder head, or replace your timing chains.  

This socket would be most commonly used on the 3rd Generation of the 2.0t and 1.8t TSI engine, commonly found in a variety of MQB/MK7 models.  There are a variety of these special tools that look the same, with a minor difference in the offset of pins.  Make sure you have the correct valve for your car via the application data.  

 

This spool valve socket uses offset pins and is to be used with the following part numbers.  These are generally found on vehicles produced 2014 - 2017.  If your vehicle does not use any of the part numbers below, please see with part number WKZ-T10352/4
